2020 Primitive Range Family Reunion - Vendors/ Craftspeople Welcome!

With so many events canceled this year, we want to extend an invitation to vendors and craftspeople to join us for our Primitive Range Family Reunion, July 24-26, 2020

While this will be an informal event with limited attendance, you are welcome to bring your shop or trade blanket and hang out with us for the weekend!

We ask that you pay the family camp rate of $15 for the weekend, payment is not due until you set up camp, this way you aren't out anything if COVID 19 cancels this event.

We will have Trap, Skeet, Pistol, Double Rifle (Sat 9am) and Sporting Rifle (Fri 4pm) all open at the Walter Cline Range in Friendship, Indiana

NMLRA New Years Day 2020 Shoot - Black Powder Maniac

Weather permitting........the New Year's Day FREE shooting event is scheduled for Jan 1, 2020 at the primitive shooting range in Friendship Indiana. This is a FREE event with lunch included. Why not come and join us?

Mark Humphries of the Black Powder Maniac Shooter youtube channel is putting on a great little shoot on New Years day for anyone willing to brave the unpredictable weather! Join us at the Walter Cline Range in Friendship, Indiana for a day of chilly weather and blackpowder fun.

If you aren’t, don’t fret, Mark and the NMLRA Media Team will be filming all day to bring the highlights of the shoot to you, right in your warm house.

Congratulations to Bob Wetzler for taking top honors today at NMLRA inline silhouette match.

Some incredible shooting today by all competitors.

3 shooters went 19 for 20 and came down to shoot off for the win.

Course of fire was

5 chicken 200m

5 pigs 300m

5 Turkey 420yds

5 rams 500 yds

Shoot off at 500 yds was

Ram,Turkey, pig,chicken first to miss was out and Bob put on a shooting lesson all fell out at Turkey at 500 except Bob smoked it.

Last weekend we hosted our last 22 Fun Shoot of the season at our Walter Cline Range.

With perfect weather and 37 participants, we all had a great time plinking away at the various banks of reactive targets. Special thanks to Mike Weissmann for hosting this event as well as bringing targets and prizes for the shooters.

2019 National Family Fun Shoot Recap

There’s one more Family Fun Shoot in the books for us! We had absolutely perfect weather this past weekend at the Family Fun shoot. With over 100 registered participants, the firing lines were bustling all weekend.

Mark joined us on New Year’s Day to put on his annual New Year’s Day Shoot, an open invitational to anyone interested in muzzleloaders for a day of fun shooting at playing cards, golf balls, and steel silhouettes.

We’d like to thank Mark for everything he does for the Muzzle Loading community. His channel is a staple for many of our members, it was great to spend the day with him.

New Years Day with with the “Black Powder Maniac Shooter”

We’re excited to be working with Mark Humphries of the “Black Powder Maniac Shooter” youtube channel to host another year of his New Year’s day Woodswalk shoot!

We encourage marksmen of all ages to attend this year and join us for a day of blackpowder fun out in the cold.

Starting in 2020, non-members can attend events on the grounds by signing an insurance waiver and pay a $1 fee. All Non-members who attend will receive a Free three month digital subscription to Muzzle Blasts.

We will be opening up the Clubhouse or the Education building to attendees of this event for lunch and to get onto of the cold depending on the weather.

Mark Humphries has agreed to bring a big pot of Chili, we encourage anyone attending the event to bring a dish or dessert to the pot-luck style lunch.

If you come to the New Years Day shoot, bring your buddy, neighbor, relative, or whomever and they can join the fun and frivolity, feel the recoil and smell the smoke.

The Versailles American Legion Junior Shooting Sports at the ISPRA Awards!

We’d like to send a large NMLRA congratulations to a local youth shooting sports team here in Southern Indiana. 

The Versailles American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Program is a youth air rifle program here in Ripley County. These youth marksmen practice at the NMLRA headquarters and raise money for their matches by working during the NMLRA National Championships. 

“Maggie, Richie, Joe and Tanner along with Steve and myself attended the Annual ISRPA Awards Banquet last night in Indianapolis at the Indiana War Memorial. We were notified a few weeks ago that our team won 1st. place in Sporter Class in an on line shoot. All 4 shooters with us won awards plus top team.”
