In an attempt to satisfy my urge to build my own muzzleloader, I've been doing a lot of reading about builders and their rifles. I found this little book in the library and thought it would be fun to share some shots of the inside.
Titled "Gunmakers of Buffalo Valley & Greasy Cove", the book follows the work of gunsmiths of Unicoi County, Tennessee and shares how they crafted these tools of survival by hand in shops powered by their own blood and sweat.
If you are at all interested in early builders, their work and their life, I encourage you to check this book out.
The book is written by Dave Byrd, ISBN: 978-57072-336-0. You can find it at the Log Cabin Shop (Shop small!) Or on Amazon.
