On September 18th, the Walter Cline Range’s Primitive range came to life once again this year with the “Falling Leaves Shooting Festival”. Organized by Tim Hamblen, this traditional muzzleloading shoot brought many shooters and campers into the valley for a weekend of fun and friendship.
From Range officer Tim Hamblen, “The Primitive Range Family Reunion was a great success. We had 66 people over the weekend, good shooting, good camping, and a wonderful time seeing those we missed in June. I thank all those who supported it. “
This shoot would not have been possible without the work of Tim Hamblen and his friends at the “Fish Creek Longrifles” club. These men dedicate their time and tools to keeping the brush around the primitive range from encroaching too much into the shooting area, ensuring an atmospheric location for muzzleloaders to enjoy.
We’d like to thank Warner Moore for donating this lovely "Schuetzen" style target for the Falling Leaves Shooting Festival. It was be set up on the King's Mt range at an unknown distance. $1 per shot. The target had a barely visible set of scoring rings with a center.
