Introduction to Building a Basic Shot Pouch with Jeff Luke

Supplies: all material and tools provided
Students will build a three piece, turned D shaped pouch of a style and size representative of those commonly used from the late 18th through the mid 19th centuries. The pouches will be constructed from pre cut kits, with a flap shape and design they'll choose and cut themselves. There will be a brief discussion on the history of shot/hunting pouches in early America, as well as an overview of the various shapes and styles common on the early frontier. Students will learn basic bag and strap construction, hand sewing, dying and aging while completing the project.
Lunch and drinks will be provided.
Cost will be $135 per student, which includes all supplies, tools and lunch.
