Meghan Jean May - NMLRA Last Relay

We’re sad to report that Meghan May has passed away. Meghan was a staple at the NMLRA National Muzzleloading matches for most of her life. Working each spring and fall in the target desk, Meghan was one of the smiling faces that greeted each shooter as they planned out their matches for the day. Please keep the May family in your thoughts during this troubling time.

Meghan Jean May, 28, of Versailles passed away at 12:30pm, Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Greensburg on September 17, 1992 the daughter of David and Melissa Adkins May. Survivors include her mother Melissa “Mitzi” May of Versailles; one sister Amber May of Holton; one brother Dr. Michael (Adrian Read) May of Coventry, England; nieces and nephews Dylan, Michaela, and Mallory Brizius; paternal grandmother Catherine May and maternal grandmother Jean Adkins both of Versailles; Uncles Tom (Normalene) Adkins of Vevay, Tim Adkins of Madison, Ted Adkins of Modesto, California, Pat Adkins of Akron, Ohio, Tracy Adkins of Versailles ,Richard May of Versailles, Eddie May of Jamestown, and Gerald  (Elena) May of Florida; Aunts Denise (Robert) Goodpaster of Dillsboro and Linda (Barry) Borter of New Marion. She was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandfather Stanley May, maternal grandfather Alfred Adkins, her uncles Ronnie May and Micheal Adkins, and her cousin Garrett Goodpaster. Meghan was a 2011 graduate of South Ripley High School where she was proud to be a member of the FFA. She was a former employee of the Versailles Dairy Queen and had worked the bench line for 5 years for the NMLRA in Friendship. She enjoyed collecting Christmas ornaments, listening to music, and staying connected with her friends on Facebook. Meghan was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church, the Versailles American Legion Auxiliary and was a 10 year member of the Brown Township Achievers 4-H club. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11th at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Becky Pohle officiating. Burial will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm. Memorials may be given to the NMLRA or the Versailles American Legion Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.
