Photographing your work
Whether you sell your handmade creations, or simply want to show off that latest project that you worked so hard on, take a few extra minutes to do your work justice with a few well lit, well focused photos. I make no claims to being a photography expert, but nice crisp photos can really make your efforts shine. You don't need expensive equipment, as most modern cell phones, even the cheaper ones, are capable of taking some pretty amazing photos. I've seen marginal work look great and superb work look marginal, all based on the photos.
Here are a few tips I've found that work well for me:

-Natural light nearly always captures the true color and detail of your work. A slight overcast day will really make your work pop, while that dark bedroom shot will leave it looking less than appealing.
-Let the subject piece be the star. Cluttered or busy backgrounds almost always detract from the piece being photographed.
-Focus matters. Blurry shots just leave folks wondering what the piece really looks like.
-Take several shots from different angles, close ups of a detail you're proud of etc., then use the best of your shots to post.
