NMLRA Headquarters recognized as Ripley County Historical Site
This summer the NMLRA was delighted to hear that Ripley County, where the NMLRA has been based since 1942, would be installing a sign outside the NMLRA “Rand House” Museum.
The sign states,
“Chartered in 1993 in Ohion and Purchased their first land here from Wilkie Lemon in 1942. The surrounding hills provided natural bunkers and over the years at least five more acquisitions of land were made to accommodate the growing sport. Land was also purchased from the Luke, Volz, and Laker families. The home office of the NMLRA was moved here in 1966.
We’d like to thank the countless number of volunteers and staff as well as the membership of the NMLRA, who have helped make this possible over the last 87 years. With out you, none of this would be possible.
