Chronographing a Snider Enfield at the Walter Cline Range

NMLRA Member Barry Geipel spent some time at the Walter Cline Range Chronographing his Snider Enfield. Read his findings below!

Yesterday I was down at Friendship testing my new LabRadar Chronograph with my Snider-Enfield. The LabRadar uses a doppler radar to track the bullet downrange giving you precise velocities along the way. So, unlike traditional chronographs, no need to shoot through it with all the resulting black powder mess on the device.

Attached is a PDF showing an overall summary of the 8 shots I fired showing the usual stats plus downrange data for each of the shots. it also shows detailed downrange velocities of the first shot in the series. In the overall summary. I believe the downrange velocities are averaged for the distance block the column is in.

This is 62.5grns FFF swiss with a flat-based .600 530grn bullet. The Standard deviation is amazing at 5.43fps and the resulting group on paper was great! Unfortunately, I did not get a good photo of the groups as we were dealing with heavy rain at the range
