NMLRA Youth Shoot – July 9-10, 2016

The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association offers a Youth Program each year from May through October. There are a number of events including the following: living history reenactments and demonstrations, national championship matches, NRA black powder championships, the National Youth Shoot, Boy Scout Camporee, Family Shoot, 4-H Invitational, hunter education courses and range officer training courses. The shooting range is located in southern Indiana on 500 acres of property and draws participants from all over the country. The facility offers separate ranges for youth, bench, offhand rifle, pistol, trap, skeet, sporting clays, archery, primitive shooting, tomahawk and knife, running boar, woods walk, smallbore and air rifle. The showcase youth event is the annual National Youth Shoot, which primarily draws its participants from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. There are 8 shooting disciplines offered during this weekend and participation is between 150 and 300 shooters. In addition to shooting, other events such as candle dipping, tomahawk throwing, bead making, etc. are offered to the kids.
